IBDI Inaugural Ball 2016

It was Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Dole Cannery Pomaikai Ballroom and it was the second time IBDI has held a dinner and social dance here. This time it's the IBDI Inaugural Ball 2016. Lani and I didn't need to rush to the Dole Cannery; not with about six floors of parking available. The Pomaikai Ballroom is a classy place with a doorman who opens the glass door as you enter the spacious lounge room.
Inside the Ballroom, music was blasting away as early guests were testing the spacious dance floor. At the Reception Table cordially greeting guests were the IBDI lovelies Dalia and Yvonne. .

DeeJays were George and Roscel Garcia.who are professional dance teachers, also.

EmCee for the event was Dr. Robert Schiff, with Renna Villanueva who said the invocation. 

The ballroom was filled with members and dancers from various dance organizations here on Oahu. It was good to see the many supporters for IBDI, especially the wonderful support by Sergio and Renna's Dance Appeal Dance Studio. 

Lani and I got our assigned table and after settling down, got on the dance floor for a little Cha Cha. Then it was time for this camera guy to go paparazzi. Got a few shots of who's who in tonight's dance scene.  

General dancing continued from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The
DeeJays played good tunes that kept the floor well occupied.

Then it was time for the Installations of Officers for 2016 by
City & County of Honolulu Councilman Ikaika Anderson 

Installed Officers were left to right:
 1st VP/Director Dana Morey,
President/Director Arnold Lee, and
2nd VP/Director Diana Vo

IBDI is going through a reorganization. Here President Arnold Lee is

outlining the direction IBDI will be taking during his tenure  in 2016. 

More General Dancing before Show Time. There was also a Snowball Dance.

Michael and Trudy Uechi came on next with the FOXTROT.

Prita Narayan and Rommel Del Rio danced the RUMBA.

Professional Reggie Gascon with Joseline Sangalang danced the TANGO.

Renna Villanueva and David Matsumoto danced 
the CHA CHA and SAMBA MEDLEY.

General Dancing continued after the Dance Exhibition till closing at 11:00 PM.
