Senior Citizen's Valentine Dance 2016

Lani and I got a late start to the Seniors Valentine Dance at the Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. But none the less the last hour and a half was the most entertaining. There were a lot of teenagers dancing with senior teenagers burning the floor with swing dancing, electric slide, macarena line dance, and no-partner boogie. Music was going on non-stop and one would think those seniors would fall from exhaustion dancing but they keep on burning the floor. Lani and I just sat down at front row for a while to enjoy watching the young people making the seniors have fun on this special day for them. Fellow dance instructor Roxie Kaino was there; so I'm assuming the teenagers were from Washington Middle School. Richard and Lynn Nakamura from Dance Magic 808 were there, too.

It was about 10:30 when we got to the Exhibition Hall. It was Open Dance time. The Mayor gave a short welcoming speech and then it was time for the Parade of Celebrities.

The event that was suppose to end at 12 noon but some how music does energize anyone whether they be a senior teenager or just a teenager. As Lani and I left the Exhibition Hall past noon the young people and some of the senior teenagers were still burning the dance floor. Aloha for now!
